Making a difference to young people’s lives across Somerset, facilitating intergenerational relationships and making positive connections, enhancing wellbeing and resilience.

Promiseworks is a local charity that supports vulnerable children and young people through long term volunteer mentoring across Somerset.
We use the Attachment style theory which recognises that by making a long-term positive connection with an adult it can enhance a young person’s sense of self and build resilience. The innovative mechanisms of PROMISEworks, means that although we work collaboratively across the community in the health, social and educational sectors, giving our young people a voice, the volunteer mentors are kept separate from this, allowing them to develop trusted relationships with their young person.
I joined Promiseworks in November 2023 to raise awareness in the West Somerset area, building networks to better support our young people. Prior to this I worked in a Primary school as the schools Social and Emotional lead. I am passionate about supporting young people by creating enabling environments in which they can thrive.
